The 6th Annual Black Farmers & Urban Gardeners Conference

is a national conference presented by Black Urban Growers (BUGs), an organization of volunteers committed to building networks and community support for growers in both urban and rural settings. Through education and advocacy around food and farm issues, we nurture collective black leadership to ensure we have a seat at the table.

Fruit grown locally, and by the genuine, and caring blood and sweat from our people...sounds good to me, I'm in.

Hello, I work at Zenger Farm, a non-profit educational farm based in Portland, Oregon. We are interested in attending the conference and collaborating with other farms to host a roundtable discussing issues of equity and shifting decision making power in a historically white-lead organization. If anyone is interested in discussing further please contact me at krysta@zengerfarm.org.

I heard about this organization this morning on NPR. I hope to become more involved in the near future. I want to post pictures of my small backyard garden for comments and advice.

We need to support each other. Be more self-sufficient! When people realize we don’t need to go to them for anything they start showing a lot more respect. God bless the child who has his own!! We done heard our mothers and grandmothers say this so many times before!! Be proud of your black life!! So support another black life !! Because black lives matter!!
