Where land, leadership, and liberation meet

The Black Urban Growers (BUGs) Conference is the nation’s largest gathering for Black urban and rural farmers, growers, and land stewards.

For three days, the BUGs fam takes over the city with workshops, panels, local farm tours, and cultural celebrations that honor our past and plant seeds for our future.

This is where growers, educators, chefs, and food justice leaders from across the country connect, collaborate, and celebrate. Every year brings new voices, fresh strategies, and the kind of energy that stays with you long after the weekend is over.

If you’ve been before, you know there’s nothing like it. If you haven’t, this is the year to join the fam. Don’t watch it from your screen — experience it with us this year in Detroit.
